Story:Brooke got back
her TD. She used to co-own thisTD, then lost it, and then just recently got it back. She has startedworking on it
and has sent pictures for you to see.Just click on the link: Brooke's TD Some of her story
is at the link. It is interesting to "hear" whather plans are. Hopefully she will send more pictures as the
workprogresses. Are we going to see a finished teardrop at 200 'N' 2000Brooke?
A note from Grant at Tales
and Trails about Brooke's TD: Very Cool! Looks like the trailer was in pretty good shape to begin with.
(I think Larry is envious ...!) What kind or glue are you using to bond the wood 1x2s to the aluminum?
Let us know how it holds up. Maybe you already know this, but here's what we have on the make/model of your
teardrop: It's a "Tourette", mfg. by the Universal Trailer Corporation, Kansas City, MO, from about
the mid-'40s 'til (we think) about the early '50s. They weighed about
720 lbs, and came with a luggage rack, ice-box, and stove for about $750 in 1947. They were also known as
"Tourers", and at present we don't know how many were made (but we think several hundred, at least). I'm not sure
how unique your paticular teardrop is (in terms of model run), but it's one of only two that I've seen with the
curved leading-edge on the inner fenderwell. Thanks for the pics, and keep us informed - we're eager to see how it
turns out! Will you be joining us at either Sweetwater or Shasta? CHEERS! Grant Tales and Trails
